The law requires the inspection and sometimes costly repair of balconies, stairs, and other “exterior elevated elements” at multifamily properties in California not later than January 1, 2025. Though the inspection deadline is more than three years away, property owners are beginning to plan for compliance – and buyers and lenders are beginning to consider possible repairs during due diligence.
